Yen My District boosts industrial development

(VEN) - Yen My District in Hung Yen Province attaches much importance to industrial and handicraft development and set a target of becoming an industrialized district according to the resolution of the 28th congress of the 2020-2025 tenure District Party Committee.

In recent years, Yen My District has pursued sustainable development of industrial and handicraft production. It has created favorable conditions for businesses to seek investment opportunities and roll out the approved projects in the area.

The district has mobilized investment capital for transport and industrial zone infrastructure development. Many provincial roads and national highways going through the district have been upgraded and expanded to form a connected and complete traffic network, contributing to attracting investors to Yen My as well as promoting economic growth. The district cooperated with the electricity industry to invest in and upgrade the power grid infrastructure and transformer stations to meet the demand for safe, efficient use of electricity upon increasing industrial and handicraft production.

Yen My has stepped up administrative reform, including implementation of a “one-door” policy, formality publicization, and increase of investor comfort, among others. Through industry promotion projects, the district has enhanced vocational training for rural workers, and helped enterprises develop new products with competitive advantages.

Consistent solution implementation has developed industrial and handicraft production in the district quantitatively and qualitatively. Yen My is home to five industrial zones with more than 320 domestic and foreign investment projects that are providing thousands of jobs. In addition, the district accommodates more than 1,000 small and medium-sized enterprises, employing tens of thousands of workers.

The strongly developing industry and handicraft sector has become a driving force of the district's economic development, while the district’s economic structure has shifted sturdily to industry and construction with key industries of mechanical engineering, textiles and garments, and building materials. In September 2022, the industry and construction sector accounted for 84.46 percent of the district’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) and reached a total production value of more than VND44.431 trillion, 76.08 percent of the 2022 target and up 13.37 percent from the same time last year.

Yen My District will continue implementing consistent solutions to promote industrial development, speed up labor force restructuring, create more jobs, improve people’s incomes and become a developed industrial district.
