Vimico-Thai Nguyen Non-Ferrous Metal boosts production

The company currently has four member units, 10 departments, two workshops, one affiliated company and over 1,300 employees, operating mainly in the two provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan.

In order to meet customer needs now that COVID-19 has been controlled, the company has adopted various solutions to boost production and business activities.

Specifically, the company has adhered to mining production plans, fully issued technical instructions for each mining area, updated new ore blocks by taking samples, and improved the quality of drilling and blasting work at a depth of three meters.

The company also launched role-model campaigns to promote initiatives and technical improvement in underground mining in order to increase labor productivity and lower product prices. It also opened and exploited new areas, such as the Southwest Nui Phao mine and Cuc Duong mine, ensuring a stable supply of raw materials for factories.

Not only seeking alternative raw materials, the company also innovated its technology to improve product quality and meet market demand. In particular, it replaced the 2.8cu.m sorting machine with a Cell sorting machine suitable for refining lead and zinc.

The company plans to install more lead dredging machines to reduce impurities. It has also paid special attention to metallurgical work. The Thai Nguyen electrolytic zinc plant took measures to improve zinc quality, remove residual acid, and maintain and raise the quality of zinc ingots to 99.99 percent.

The company is also studying solutions to reduce zinc content in by-products and waste residues (lead and iron residue, residue after water treatment), while maintaining zinc content in the zinc powder at 96 percent or more. It is also working to ensure a stable power supply for production, especially in the hot season, strictly manage and control input materials, preserving, processing and mixing materials to ensure the standards of raw materials before putting them into furnaces.

Thanks to the above solutions, the value of industrial output in the first nine months reached VND144.764 billion, equaling 71.46 percent of the year’s plan; while revenues during this nine-month period reached VND907.759 billion, or 72.62 percent of the year’s plan.

Based on these results, the company has contributed VND185.429 billion to the state budget, equaling 84.43 percent of the year’s plan. The company’s nine-month pre-tax profit reached an estimated VND130 billion, or 58.78 percent of the year’s plan; and the average salary of employees in this period was VND9.14 million per person per month.
