Vietnam launches comprehensive corporate management platform

(VEN) - Digital transformation has proven itself an effective measure to enhance competitiveness in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Many Vietnamese logistics enterprises are hastening the application of digital technology and increasing the connection with related industries, creating favorable conditions for this transformation.

The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) recently launched the corporate management platform Base.vn within the framework of its “Make in Vietnam” initiative under the national digital transformation program approved by the Prime Minister.

The platform with more than 50 applications focuses on three core issues: the Base Work + product set helping businesses manage their operations and projects; the Base Info + product set helping build an effective, transparent information system; and the Base HRM + product set helping build a complete human resource development and management strategy.

Applications on the Base.vn platform are specifically designed and optimized for each specific task in the enterprise according to the micro-service architecture (many small services), but can still exchange data on a common platform through Webhook and API. In addition, Base.vn can connect solutions of many different suppliers to create a powerful toolkit for sustainable business growth.

Based on this platform, managers can see the overall picture of their businesses through actual data, thereby making more accurate decisions to increase work efficiency, reduce costs (time, manpower and material) and increase revenues. From the employees’ perspective, the platform facilitates collaboration with colleagues, and sets deadlines for task completion.

Convenience and cost savings

In addition, the ability to operate on multiplatform laptop, tablet and mobile devices, and its compatibility with both Android and iOS operating systems provides convenience. As the product was built on the Cloud platform, its features are updated for free and quickly, significantly saving costs for enterprises.

Founded in August 2016, Base Enterprise JSC is known as one of the leading tech firms in Software as a Service (Sasas) in Vietnam. It was recently one of the 80 enterprises named “ASEAN Prosperous Reputable Enterprise 2020”.

Nguyen Phu Tien, head of the MIC’s Department of Computerization, said the digital economy is expected to contribute 20 percent of national GDP by 2025, and 30 percent by 2030 and raise average labor productivity at least by 7 and 8 percent by 2025 and 2030 respectively.

These challenges depend on successful digital transformation. “Base.vn is an important foundation for business governance and administration in Vietnam during the digital transformation process. The approach of this platform is to develop a common platform for all businesses on which they can develop custom applications and features to help them operate effectively,” Nguyen Phu Tien emphasized.

According to Pham Kim Hung, founder and General Director of Base Enterprise JSC, the platform currently serves more than 5,000 customers, about half of them leading enterprises in Vietnam.
