The Van Dien Fused Magnesium Phosphate Fertilizer Joint Stock Company’s (VADFCO) forerunner is the Van Dien Fused Magnesium Phosphate Fertilizer Company that was built in 1960 with two 10,000-tonnes-per-year blast furnaces and a drying and grinding line. After many extensive investments and technology improvements, the company’s total capacity has increased to 450,000 tonnes of fertilizers of all kinds per year, including 300,000 tonnes of fused magnesium phosphate and 150,000 tonnes of NPK fertilizers of all kinds, meeting domestic market and export needs.

VADFCO fertilizers are produced with heat technology and without chemicals so they are environmentally friendly and suitable for high-tech and organic agricultural production.

For many years, the main product lines of VADFCO, including fused magnesium phosphate fertilizers and multi-nutrient or NPK fertilizers, have attracted a growing number of farmers across the country, as they can be used for many kinds of plants and soil, make plants drought and cold tolerant, and help increase pest and disease resistance, crop efficiency, productivity and quality.

VADFCO has modern production technology and uses entirely natural ore and minerals for fertilizer production. All production stages are strictly controlled, while raw materials are selected according to national standards. All company products are tested on fields before official use for specific crops.

The company makes nearly 50 multi-element or NPK fertilizer products through combining Van Dien fused magnesium phosphate fertilizers with nitrogenous and potassium fertilizers and micronutrients, which are suitable for each stage of growth of specific crops in different soil conditions.

Market expansion

VADFCO products not only sell well in Vietnam but are also exported. The company exported its first shipment of outstanding quality, environmentally friendly products to France in 1994, and then to Australia, Japan, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Laos, and Cambodia.

In 2019, VADFCO set a target of selling 305,000 tonnes of product and reaching total revenues of VND953 billion, including profit of VND58 billion. VADFCO General Director Van Hong Son said that this year the company will improve sales activities in compliance with conditions of specific agents and regions to expand and maintain market share and fulfill the 2019 targets.

VADFCO will also improve marketing and product promotion, constantly research and innovate technology, increase the productivity of machinery and equipment, reduce costs, and better product quality.

VADFCO will continue providing the market with high quality and environmentally friendly fertilizers for specific crops.

In 2019, VADFCO will launch four new products with good quality and design, including three high-quality NPK products with easily soluble micronutrients and one fused magnesium phosphate fertilizer product with micronutrients.
