Non-stop efforts to expand investment, develop new products
Vietnam began to import TOA paint products in the 1990s. Popular kinds of TOA paint that were distributed within the Vietnamese market included scented industrial paints, varnish T-8000, and WIN spray paints. In 1995 the TOA Paint Vietnam Co. Ltd. was established with its first plant commencing its operations in 1998.
In 2006 the company opened a new plant covering six hectares of land in the Tan Dong Hiep A Industrial Zone, Di An District, Binh Duong Province. With initial investment of US$6 million, the plant is equipped with working automatic production lines to manufacture a variety of decorative and industrial paints, wood coatings, and construction chemicals.
Following the successful manufacture of TOA NanoShield paints for exterior use, the company launched TOA NanoClean, which is a kind of high-grade interior paint made with Nano technology. TOA NanoClean is 99.9 percent antibacterial and very easy to clean. During this time, the company expanded its warehouses in Binh Duong and Hanoi, increased its investment capital to US$20 million, and opened new representative offices in the cities of Can Tho and Nha Trang.
In 2013, the company launched a new line of enamel products called TOA 4 Seasons. This product line was made without using lead and mercury in order to be harmless to the environment and user health friendly. Also, the integration of 4 POWERS in TOA 4 Seasons products enhances the durability of buildings and protects them against any severe weather conditions.
On May 23, 2015, the company inaugurated its Hanoi Branch based in Thanh Tri District - this signified a new effort to strengthen its position within the Vietnamese paint market.
Made with green technologies, TOA paints are environmentally friendly and safe for users. For these advantages, TOA paints have won the trust of Vietnamese consumers.
According to the leadership of the TOA Paint Group in Thailand, after more than 50 years of development TOA has become a leading paint manufacturer in Southeast Asia and the number-one paint brand in Thailand. TOA now sustains a 50 percent share of the Thai decorative paint market, with more than 70 percent of buildings in Bangkok alone using TOA paint products. Additionally, TOA paints are in distribution across many countries such as Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, India, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia. In Vietnam, TOA paints are becoming increasingly reliable to architects, professional contractors, and consumers nationwide. This is no doubt thanks to product quality and the state-of-the-art technologies used by TOA.
Following its Greenovation orientation, TOA Paint Vietnam prioritizes its attention to ensuring that its products are safe, environmentally friendly and create a green living environment to protect users.
TOA Paint Factory in Binh Duong Province
For many years, TOA has invested billions of VND and paid great attention to community activities. In 2015, the company began to organize a series of events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its presence in the Vietnamese market.
TOA Paint Vietnam Country Manager Udom Parichartwutthikul stated, “With the aim to contribute to the comprehensive development of the local community, we have accompanied the National Fund for Vietnamese Children in a program entitled ‘Painting happiness - Drawing love’. Under this program, we donated paints totally worth more than VND3 billion to help repairing and improving child care and education facilities, as well as creating more playing fields for children. This is among traditional activities of TOA Paint Vietnam.”
Notable social activities of the company included repainting the Dong An Primary School in Binh Duong Province and the Continuing Education Center of Ho Chi Minh City’s Nha Be District with total area of nearly 3,000sq.m. The company has also been involved in accompanying the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics in a campaign aimed at improving the living conditions for residents in remote areas and providing funds for the construction of houses for local people.
For its contributions to the local community, TOA Paint Vietnam has had the honor of being recognized by the ASEAN Times, the ASEAN Business Council, and the consulates general of ASEAN countries as one of the Top 10 Sustainable ASEAN Brands. It won Vietnam Top Brands award following joint approval by the Central Institute of Economic Management, the Vietnam Consumer Research Center, and Global GTA (UK). The company also received Trusted Brand Index 2015 and Sustainable Development Business 2015 certificates following joint assessment by the Vietnam Enterprise Institute and the InterConformity assessment and certification organization (Federal Republic of Germany - Europe).
