The official opening of Vietnam Motorshow 2016

Opening the event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said the VMS shows the efforts of firms to boost the development of the auto sector as well as support industries.

The most expected show will absolutely be the introduction of new leading models from famous brands.

Chevrolet introduces consumers to a new generation of global product categories which symbolize American brand. The brand officially presents the pickup version Chevrolet Colorado 2017, which is considered as the strongest model that has been improved to satisfy consumers’ demand on owning a vehicle for both working and daily travelling. With the aim of extending the busy SUV segment, Chevrolet brings out smart and multi-purpose imported sport model for urban customers - Chevrolet Trax 2017 with 1.4L Ecotec turbo engine. In addition, for the first time Midnight – a special Chevrolet Silverado version with 5.3L Ecotec3 V-8 engine and the 50-year-old star Chevrolet Camaro SS 2016 with 6.2L V-8 engine will be introduced.

Ford’s booth is highlighted with the luxurious multi-purpose sport model Ford Explorer 2017. Ford Explorer 2017 is expected to be not only a star at Vietnam Motor Show 2016 but also an attracting name in the SUV segment in the upcoming time. Together with the releasing of Explorer, Ford showcased a performance of the EcoBoost engine series, which won many international awards: small engine displacement from 1.0L (Fiesta), 1.5L (Focus) to 2.3L (Explorer), all providing powerful capacity and fuel efficient. And thus, it reconfirmed the Ford's mission to be a "Green" and quality-focused brand.

Honda Civic 10^th generation - 2016, which is imported from Thailand, expresses the “Break to create trends” spirit, promising to huge attraction.

GS Turbo 2017 of Lexus is designed for young customers who love sports and travelling.

Besides Outlander newly launched in Vietnam, Mitsubishi will introduce the new SUV model Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. Dynamic Shield language is applied with powerful and modern exterior design, sophisticated and young interior and luxury equipment to ensure its segment-leading operational capability.

Coming back to VMS after a long time of absence, Isuzu introduces the special version mu-X LIMITED. This model has significant changes in interior design which are specific decoration, more luxurious and eye-catching look. Additionally, another change in exterior makes SUV much more active and oustanding. In this return, the brand is confident to bring out a different choice for customers.

VMS 2016 is also the first occasion in which consumers in the North have a chance to explore vehicles from 2 brands named KIA and Mazda.

Toyota introduce 2 new models including Fortuner 2017 and Hilux 2017.

Being one of best-sellers, Honda City and Honda CR-V have interesting controlling ability – Fuel Saving – Superior Safety and especially sporty and dynamic design. Besides, 2 imported prime models, Accorde (imported from Thailand) and Odyssey (imported from Japan), are introduced at Honda’s booths. Bringing the core value Dependability, Quality and Reliability (DQR), both models are expected to fully satisfy visitors.

The new version Mazda CX-5 of Mazda tells KODO design language that is customized to make the car more modern and attractive. The most significant changes of this version includes bar grille instead of honeycomb, LED headlight system combining with daytime lights that looks like human eyes.

The committee also expects to enhance the development of transport companies with trucks of FUSO, Hyundai, Kamaz and MAN.

FUSO brand introduces persified product categories: light truck Canter, middle truck Fighter, heavy truck Tractor and bus ROSA attached with promotion and interactive programs.

Do Thanh Auto – Assembler and Distributor of commercial Hyundai – will bring 3 strategic models: HD99 with full highlighted features of Hyundai Mighty truck, E-County XL with luxury design, longer and larger car; and new product Dothanh IZ49. Moreover, Xcient tipper truck – leading technology of auto industry, HD210 truck – substantial and high performance, fuel saving; and HD1000 tractors – the top choice for transport companies, will be introduced by the distributor Nam Viet Motor.

The biggest truck brand of Russia Kamaz will bring out vehicle models which are fully imported from the largest country in the world. The brand, which almost overwhelms truck market in Vietnam in 70s-80s and 90s, now comes back to give a new effectively economic choice for transport business.

MAN Truck & Bus – one of the top commercial vehicle producer in Europe, attends VMS 2016 with 2 main products: Tractor MAN TGS 33.360 6x4 Euro 3 with dead weight of 8,955 tonnes, traction allowed in traffic of 38,900 kg and Ben MAN TGS 33.360 6x4 BB-WW with bucket volume 10m3 (~12 ton) and large cabin, electronic glass lifting, air-conditioner 2 pm, CD Player + FM radio. Both products have the engine MAN D2066, turbocharged & cooling circulation, Euro3, Common Rail injection.
