Thanh Hoa effectively implements industry promotion projects

Production of industrial and handicraft facilities in Thanh Hoa reflects positive changes

The Thanh Hoa provincial industrial promotion and energy efficiency center has closely coordinated with People’s Committees of districts and Thanh Hoa City to carry out industry promotion projects effectively.

Raising technology content

In 2019, the center is implementing the national industrial promotion program with funding of VND3.7 billion, which includes projects on assisting rural industrial establishments to process forest products in the 2018-2020 period; building technical demonstration models for high-quality packaging; and specific planning for Tam Linh Industrial Park in Nga Son District.

Regarding local industrial promotion, so far the center has deployed several projects with funding of nearly VND2.99 billion. These projects include applying advanced machinery to manufacture industrial and handicraft products; promoting outstanding production facilities and products through the media; organizing trade fairs to bring Vietnamese goods to the countryside; and attending trade fairs in other localities to promote products.

The industry promotion projects have yielded positive results for local rural industrial establishments, which have recognized the importance of using advanced equipment in production to improve productivity, reduce workforce, save costs, materials and energy. They have also built a number of efficient production and business models and introduced them at trade promotion activities.

Director of the Thanh Hoa Center for Industrial Promotion and Energy Conservation Hoang Xuan Phong said that in recent years, the center has helped industrial and craft production facilities acquire machinery and equipment and raise technology content and productivity when setting up industry promotion programs.

Associating industry promotion with trade promotion

In the final months of 2019, the provincial industrial promotion and energy efficiency center aims to complete its remaining assigned plans. Accordingly, it will coordinate closely with the Agency for Regional Industry and Trade, related sectors, people’s committees of districts and cities, and beneficiaries to carry out the remaining national and local industry promotion programs. The center and local authorities will also regularly check the implementation progress of the projects to make sure that all steps and procedures are completed as planned.

In addition, the center will associate industry promotion with trade promotion to explore markets for local products via domestic and international trade fairs. It considers this activity as an important task that determines the success of industry promotion activities and sustainable development of enterprises.

The center also put forward suggestions on the effectiveness of the pilot national industry promotion project on processing forest products. Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to expand this project in a wide range of areas over three to five years, depending on different fields and demand of each locality.
