Tapetco to improve aviation fuel supply

Many customers have been praising Tapetco for its services and competitive price, which meet their needs for Jet A-1 fuel.

According to Tapetco Director Nguyen Duc Thiem in order to take the lead in aviation fuel supply in the context of international integration, the company has set up a lab, which meets the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and is certified by the Bureau of Accreditation (BoA) as one of the newest aviation fuel labs in Vietnam. Tapetco’s lab has been a member of the Proficiency Testing Program since 2014 and acknowledged by the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) as a highly reliable lab.

The company has applied strict international standards such as JIG, EI, API and ASTM to ensure that the Jet A-1 fuel it provides fully meets the Aviation Fuel Quality Requirements for Jointly Operated Systems (AFQRJOS) of the Joint Inspection Group (JIG). The product is only provided for airlines via the underground fuel hydrant system once its quality is verified.

Since its launch on November 9, 2016, Tapetco’s underground fuel hydrant system, designed by Skytanking NV., has been able to comply with the latest international standards. Consequently, the IATA Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam have certified that the company’s airport depot & underground fuel hydrant system are compliant with the latest international aviation standards.

Additionally, to ensure absolute safe operation, Tapetco always pays due attention to human resource management and development. Its key officials have been sent abroad to study or attend international forums on management of aviation fuel quality. The company regularly invites the world’s leading experts to in-house training courses on the management of fuel quality and system operation for its staff members.

Improving the quality of flights

Moreover, according to Director Nguyen Duc Thiem, since the company came into operation, Tapetco has never caused any incident that endangers safety and security at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, thus contributing to building trust not only for the airport but also the Vietnam’s aviation industry.

This also explains why the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has declared Tapetco on its website as a fuel supplier for international airlines flying to Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Presently, the airport handles more than 800 flights of 50 airlines per day, which consume approximately 120 million liters of aviation fuel per month. Annually, the underground fuel hydrant system helps to cut down 76,650 fuel transportation tanker trips in the airport apron and save around 30,000 hours of aircraft parking. In doing so, the fuel hydrant system has helped relieve apron’s congestion and increase operational capacity of the airport.

“Formerly, it took 90 minutes for three trucks with a capacity of 38,000 liters each to fully refuel the Boeing B777. However, at present, with the underground fuel hydrant system, it takes only 30-35 minutes to do so,” said Director Nguyen Duc Thiem.

Regarding Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT), which are going strong worldwide, Director Nguyen Duc Thiem said that his company has launched a wireless network software application in the third quarter of this year, for automatic invoice processing to benefit both sellers and buyers. The application is also expected to improve sales administration and transparency.
