SNP, a leading Vietnamese logistics brand

Founded in 1989, SNP has experienced major breakthroughs and become a leading, prestigious logistics brand in Vietnam and in the region. SNP has become the biggest container port business in Vietnam, accounting for 50 and 92 percent of the country’s and Ho Chi Minh City’s import-export container stevedoring markets, respectively. Over the past three years, the corporation has always topped the 20 biggest logistics businesses in Vietnam while carving a 25-percent niche on the domestic ocean shipping market.

Nguyen Nang Toan, director of the SNP’s SNP Logistics, said SNP has so far received more than 53,000 economic ships, while containers handled through corporation-managed ports totaled 585 million tonnes, an average growth of 21 percent per year, earning total revenue and profit of almost VND72.26 trillion and VND12.86 trillion. The corporation is expected to reach total revenue of VND19.5 trillion and profit of VND2.25 trillion, and pay nearly VND4.59 trillion in taxes to the state budget in 2017. The above-mentioned figures prove the corporation’s strong, sustainable development in the context of competitive market.

For many years, SNP has been continually developing its infrastructure to better meet customer’s increasing demand. SNP is managing nearly 1,000 container trucks for special use, 200 lorries, 80 barges, 16 ports with over 8,519m of wharf, six ICDs, 10 depot, 322ha of container yard and nearly 650,000sq.m of warehouse. The corporation’s 160ha Tan Cang - Cat Lai container port, located in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 2, has become the biggest and most modern receiver of feeder ships in Vietnam. The port has 10 wharves totaling 2,040m in length, is equipped with 27 modern Panamax shore cranes, TOPOVN and Australian TOP-X container handling systems, and a synchronized hardware system, which help maximize container management and port exploitation efficiency, shorten cargo delivery time, and maximize customer’s convenience. Tan Cang - Cat Lai is always the first choice of cargo forwarding customers in southern provinces.

With its internal strength, SNP can connect port operations in key economic zones nationwide, forming a logistics supply chain to provide package services for export and import customers.

SNP has highly a trained, experienced, devoted and enthusiastic workforce. The corporation often sent its staff members to training courses including those in foreign countries with a developed logistics industry.

SNP has invested strongly in IT-based management. Since last year, the corporation has succeeded in implementing payment and delivery procedures through the internet, and is continuing to improve services to maximize customer’s convenience. SNP is consistently managing logistics services with OTM and WMS Info management systems. It is pioneering application of specific solutions to make use of the fourth industrial revolution’s achievements.
