Quang Ninh strives to achieve targets
Vinacomin has directed capable units to increase their output
According to the Quang Ninh People’s Committee, although the province has highly focused on overcoming and resolving the consequences caused by rains and floods, socioeconomic development in August alone and in the first eight months of the year remained positive. The index of industrial production increased by 6.88 percent in August and 6.58 percent in the first eight months of the year compared to a year ago, while exports stood at US$1.078 billion. The number of tourists reached an estimated 6.167 million in August, an increase of eight percent compared to the same month last year. In addition, other sectors also recorded good growth and state budget revenues remained stable.
However the province has still faced many difficulties. Trade and production enterprises, especially coal companies have been halted, while agricultural production and seafood farming in Van Don District, Ha Long City and some other areas have been seriously damaged. In addition, some key projects have been delayed and trade fraud has remained complicated.
According to a report about Quang Ninh Province’s socioeconomic situation in August and in the first eight months of the year and key tasks in September announced by the provincial people’s committee, although facing many challenges and difficulties, the province is determined not to reduce the growth targets. The people’s committee has asked agencies and localities to review and direct activities in order to launch an emulation movement in all fields.
One of the main solutions is to improve trade and production activities at enterprises that were not affected by rains and floods with a focus on promoting sales. In particular, the Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited and the Dong Bac Corporation have directed capable units to increase their output in order to make up for those that were seriously affected by rains and floods.
Quang Ninh Province has also paid special attention to ground clearance, especially for key projects, strengthened administrative procedure reform to create the most favorable environment for businesses and highly focused on social welfare and public security.
