PV Gas responds to 2019 Workers Month

Member units of the PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas) have organized various activities in response to the 2019 Workers Month and Occupational Safety and Health Action Month.

A Bureau for Safe Work report shows that in 2017 more than 9,000 workplace accidents happened nationwide, causing nearly 1,000 deaths. In 2018, nearly 8,000 workplace accidents caused more than 1,000 deaths. Workplace accident and occupational disease statistics show that the work environment at businesses still presents risks to worker safety. The main reason is that both employers and employees still lack necessary knowledge and skills to identify and assess risks to labor safety and hygiene. Therefore, the 2019 Occupational Safety and Health Action Month was implemented nationwide from May 1-31 under the theme “Enhancing risk assessment and management at workplaces”.

In recent years, the leaders of PV Gas member units have shown high determination in efforts to improve the working conditions for their employees, attaching great importance to supervising the abidance by safety regulations and improving worker ability to assess dangerous factors and risks to their safety at workplaces. At the same time, they have promoted propaganda to enhance worker awareness about workplace safety when implementing gas projects. Thanks to these efforts, PV Gas member units have achieved good results in ensuring labor safety and hygiene as well as in preventing fires and explosions, maintaining effective and uninterrupted operations of gas works.

PV Gas D organizes various social activities

The Youth Union and Trade Union of the PetroVietnam Low Pressure Gas Distribution Joint Stock Company (PV Gas D) have successfully organized a charitable program to present gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers and scholarships to studious children from needy families in Thai Binh Province’s Tien Hai District.

The company’s Youth Union and Trade Union and the Youth Union of Tien Hai District have handed over scholarships to 40 students from primary and lower secondary schools in Dong Co Commune. They also organized a festival with various games in a warm atmosphere full of love for local children.

The delegation also visited and presented gifts to 21 heroic Vietnamese mothers in Tien Hai District. They coordinated with the district’s general hospital to provide free medical examination and consultancy and medicines for 100 residents facing special difficulties from Dong Minh Commune.

The program was one of the society-oriented activities that PV Gas D has attached great importance to in recent years.

PV Gas South organizes road-shows to promote PETROVIETNAM GAS brand

PETROVIETNAM GAS has become a leading brand in the domestic gas market. Over the past 19 years, it has won consumer trust by ensuring absolute safety for customers.

The Eastern Branch of the PetroVietnam Southern Gas Joint Stock Company (PV Gas South) recently organized a road-show in an effort to make the brand familiar to residents of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

In the city of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa Province, the South-Central Branch of PV Gas South also organized a road-show for the same purpose.

Through these activities, PV Gas South wanted to convey to the public a message that its success is attributed to not only the quality of products and after-sales services but also serious investment in international-standard, modern production equipment.

PV Gas Vung Tau’s parade to promote occupational safety and health

Under the guidance of the National Steering Committee for the 2019 Occupational Safety and Health Action Month and PV Gas, the PetroVietnam Gas Vung Tau Processing Company (PV Gas Vung Tau) recently organized a launching ceremony and a parade in response to the month-long event, with participation of leaders and more than 200 workers from eight PV Gas member units in Vung Tau.

At the ceremony, PV Gas Vung Tau leaders launched action plans and propaganda campaigns to help its workers identify risks to their safety at workplaces. Under these action plans and campaigns, the company will organize training activities and competitions to improve worker awareness of occupational safety and health, while at the same time making further efforts to improve working conditions for its employees.
