(VEN) - On May 14, the PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) organized a ceremony to announce the reappointment of Duong Manh Son as the General Director and Vo Thi Thanh Ngoc as a member of the Board of Directors and the appointment of Tran Thi Hoang Anh as Head of the Board of Controllers.

Son expressed his own and his colleague’s deep gratitude to the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) Party Committee’s Standing Board, Member Council and all staff of PV GAS for their trust and support.

He said, despite many difficulties and challenges of the oil and gas industry over the past five years, PV GAS leaders and workers have moved forward with stable business results, contributing significantly to the overall development of the PetroVietnam Group. Having worked for more than 19 years with PV GAS, he felt fortunate to have made a small contribution to the company’s development as Vietnam’s leading gas industry enterprise, he said.

Reporting on the action plan for the new term, Son listed the following priorities for maintaining the position of PV GAS and moving it forward.

- Continue the comprehensive restructuring of PV GAS to achieve a streamlined governance apparatus, ensure capital and other resources and implement decentralization of member units in the corporation.

- Strengthen comprehensive cooperation with member units of the PVN as well as domestic and foreign partners; build value chain links, promoting the competitive advantages of each link in the chain; diversify products and maximize resources for PV GAS core business in all stages: upstream, middle and downstream of the gas industry.

- PV GAS needs to continue reviewing, training, building the next leadership team, creating a staff pool for itself and for PVN as well, said Le Manh Hung, General Director of PVN. It also needs to pay special attention to develop business strategies in the new period; improve project management and boost corporate culture.
