ProWine ASIA 2016

The inaugural ProWine ASIA 2016 – the newest addition to the ProWein-World series following the highly successful ProWein in Germany and ProWine China – will be held from April 12-15, 2016 at the Singapore Expo, concurrent with the 20th of FHA 2016 (Food&HotelAsia 2016) for the first time.

The opportune staging of ProWine ASIA 2016 comes in tandem with the mounting global interest towards Southeast Asia’s wines and spirits market. A region of rapidly developing economies and home to 600 million people, Southeast Asia will see yearly consumption of beer, wine, spirits and mixed drinks to surge by almost 1.2bn nine-liter cases by 2019 , according to the International Wine & Spirit Research (IWSR) 2014-2019 report.

And in Vietnam, according to spirits EUROPE Vietnam market report 2015, the volume of EU spirits exports to Vietnam has increased by over 50 percent since 2009, and was worth €42 million in 2014, an increase of 730 percent over the last decade. The recent signing of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on December 2, 2015 will amplify Vietnam’s market potential for the European spirits and wine sectors. Vietnam’s cognac demand is expected to surge by 75 percent between 2014 and 2019.
