Province drives road development

(VEN) - Hung Yen’s transport sector has achieved significant progress in advancing the province’s socioeconomic development.

Hung Yen Province Department of Transport Director Tran Minh Hai said the department has advised local authorities on transport infrastructure needs and mobilized capital to build it.

Accordingly, many construction projects are being implemented, including construction of side roads connecting the Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway with the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh Expressway, and construction and upgrades of other slip road projects. A project on construction of roads connecting cultural heritage and tourism sites with economic development along provincial rivers has been submitted to the provincial People's Committee and People's Council for consideration. If approved and implemented, the project will contribute to a sustainable network of transport infrastructure, helping improve the image and position of Hung Yen Province, ensuring security and defense, and meeting the travel demand of local residents and of socioeconomic development.

The Department of Transport has helped enterprises invest in vehicles, improve service quality, and meet people’s increasing travel needs. In addition, it coordinated with the Vietnam Automobile Transportation Association to organize professional training for staff of transport businesses in the province and supervised the training of drivers and service staff.

The province plans to keep reviewing, adjusting and supplementing integrated transport development in provincial planning and in the national road network for the 2021-2030 period; consider and evaluate networks and key routes; supplement traffic routes to ensure conditions for synchronous construction of technical infrastructure, connecting different types of road, rail and inland waterway transport; connect the system of highways, national highways and provincial roads with economic zones and industrial parks.

Also, the province will keep mobilizing diverse resources to develop a synchronous and modern infrastructure system; take advantage of capital sources from the government's national target program and support program to invest in district roads and rural roads; and allocate reasonable land areas for the development of transport infrastructure.

In order to keep promoting the achieved results, Hung Yen continues to develop a transport system in line with the province's planning on landscape and architecture space based on maximizing its geographical advantages.
