(VEN) - Hanoi, Dec 4, 2015, a seminar titled Vietnam - China Cangzhou economic and trade cooperation promotion was held.

At the seminar, Mr. Shang Liguang, party chief of China Cangzhou municipal introduced Cangzhou, second highest growing economy of Hebei Province of China, with its rich history, colorful culture and dynamic economy.

Cangzhou is located in Southeast Hebei province, and covers an area of 14,000 square kilometers with a population of 7.6 million. Cangzhou is an ancient city with a long history of culture. It is homes of Wushu (Martial Arts), acrobatics, pipes and foundry, golden-thread jujubea, and Ya pears. In 2014, the GDP of Cangzhou was 313.3 billion RMB yuan (49.7 billion US dollars).

Cangzhou is also an open coastal city, enjoying opportunities brought by various national strategies including Coordinated Development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, One Belt and One Road, and Bohai Sea Surrounding Regions Cooperation. There are 7 railways and 7 highways connected with Cangzhou. It takes only 51 minutes to Beijing and 22 minutes to Tianjin. Its own port Huanghua can berth ships with 200,000 tonnage.

Pipe and fitting industry is the dominant industry of Cangzhou. Totally there are 3,459 pipe and fitting manufacturers with 136,000 employees. Cangzhou is known as the Pipe and Fitting Manufacturing Base of China, Pipe and Fitting Exporting Base of China, and Capital of Pipes and Elbows of China. The pipes and fittings made in Cangzhou accounts about 60% in China and are exported to more than 90 countries and regions of the world.

About 10 delegates from Cangzhou and 70 local business VIPs attended the half day seminar.
