(VEN) - In the past few years, the natural resources and environment sector of Hung Yen Province has advised authorities on state management of natural resources and the environment, contributing to provincial economic growth, industrialization and modernization.

Sustainable resources’ use

The natural resources and environment sector has made efforts to perform the dual tasks of managing state lands and facilitating business activities and home construction.

A conference on 2020 Environment Protection Law guidelines for local enterprises

Specifically, the department has submitted to the provincial People's Committee 74 applications for auctioning land use rights for home construction on an area of 278.364ha; 36 applications for the transfer of agricultural land use rights to production and business projects on an area of 102.853ha; 22 documents regarding land acquisition decisions on an area of 11.423ha; 69 records of land allocation and land lease of nearly 345ha. It has also signed land lease contracts and handed over land to organizations and units in the province.

As for land registration and issuance of land use right certificates, the department asked the provincial People's Committee to issue 107 certificates to 24 organizations on a total area of 58.01ha. The department itself issued 58 certificates to 50 other organizations on a total area of 522.1ha, and announced conditions for transfers of agricultural land use rights for three projects, 65 land plots, and 1,258 apartments.

A conference on 2020 Environment Protection Law

In terms of water resources, hydrometeorology and climate change, the department appraised a total of 51 dossiers relating to exploration, exploitation and underground water use and guided licensed organizations on installing and operating equipment for monitoring, exploitation and use of water resources.

As for management and sustainable use of mineral resources, the department successfully organized an auction of mineral exploitation rights for three sand mines in the Red River bed in Quang Chau, Hoang Hanh, and Tan Hung communes of Hung Yen City; implemented the planning of mineral exploration and exploitation for processing as building materials; drew up an auction plan for mineral exploitation rights in the province and submitted it to the provincial People’s Committee for approval, serving the province’s socioeconomic development.

Production and environmental protection

Most rural domestic solid waste has been collected and treated. The department also completed a rural wastewater collection and treatment project for the 2020- 2025 period. All industrial parks, new business and production facilities now meet environmental protection requirements, hazardous wastes are being treated or safely buried, and monitoring is conducted to ensure that production and business activities serve sustainable development.

In the coming time, the department will enhance the dissemination of laws on natural resources and environmental protection; advise local authorities on legal documents regarding the management and use of environmental resources in accordance with the law and the actual circumstances of the province.
