Access to international markets

The spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected global trade, reducing export-import activities. To accommodate new consumer trends, direct export-import channels have been formed as an efficient, speedy way to bring Vietnamese goods to the world.

Cross-border e-commerce yields many benefits for both buyers and sellers. With the advantages of cost saving, it helps distribute directly to end-users and is highly suitable for SMEs. Cen Group Deputy Chairman Pham Thanh Hung said cross-border e-commerce will help SMEs access all markets.

To help global exporters and importers connect directly with each other, the 1908v.com platform was launched in late September 2019. Founder Nguyen Tuan Vinh said the platform supports worldwide transactions in a fast and effective manner, serving all needs of exports, imports and wholesale.

Improving competitiveness

The development of cross-border e-commerce helps expand output markets for Vietnamese products and goods. Although cross-border e-commerce has generated billions of dollars for Vietnam’s economic activities in recent years, participation in this new global supply chain still faces many limitations. Specifically, both buyers and sellers have encountered difficulties in language and business culture. Transportation costs are high, while support for import-export activities has not proved its efficiency.

Vinh said the launch of the platform would help SMEs overcome difficulties and access export markets. In addition, direct participation in the platform will help eliminate intermediary costs and offer importers access to different supply sources.

The 1908v.com platform has to date fulfilled thousands of purchase requests from exporters around the world.
