New incubator to facilitate German businesses in Vietnam

(VEN) - The German Business Incubator Vietnam (GBI Vietnam), a project of the German Industry and Commerce Vietnam, officially opened its doors on the fourth Floor of the Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City.

The opening ceremony, held on March 29, attracted more than 100 guests including Mr. Andreas Mattfeldt, Member of the German Bundestag, Dr. Martin Wansleben, Chief Executive of the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) and a German Bundestag Delegation.

GBI Vietnam provides working space, meeting rooms, networking opportunities and workshops that aim at giving German businesses in Vietnam a powerful head start. It has an ideal location in Deutsches Haus, one of the most modern and energy-efficient office buildings in the south of Ho Chi Minh City.

Currently, GBI Vietnam has 9 German organizations, SMEs and startups: Aone Deutschland AG, Tilia, Ewerk.com, Rheinland-Pfalz, Lechler, IAK Agrar Consulting, Edubao, ifb and Kjellberg.

Mr. Andreas Siegel, German Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, said that German businesses in the Incubator can not only access modern working facilities, but also connect with those who have experience in the Vietnamese market.

Mr. Marko Walde, Chief Representative of German Industry and Commerce Vietnam (GIC/AHK Vietnam), said that at present, the office space in the incubator is already filled, indicating that the project is on the right track.

In March 2019, the GBI Vietnam, operated by German Industry and Commerce Vietnam and the German Centre for Industry and Trade GmbH, a member of Landesbank BadenWuerttemberg (LBBW), signed an agreement of cooperation.

Under the agreement, both institutions will support German companies do business in the Southeast Asian region, an economic heavyweight in Asia.
