NA Chairwoman works with State Audit of Vietnam

At the working session, Deputy Auditor General of the SAV Doan Xuan Tien said that in the first eight months of 2017, the SAV has detected and suggested VND22,954 billion (US$1 billion) worth of financial prosecutions, increasing the State budget’s collection of VND11,017 billion (US$484 million) and decreasing the State budget’s expense of VND6,783 billion (US$298 million).

Over recent years, the activities of the SAV have made great progress, increasing its professionalism and contributing to answering the pressing demands for economic management in general and financial management in particular.

Through audit activities, the SAV has detected many inadequacies, proposed amendments, supplements, replacements and abolitions of many legal documents, contributing to completing institutions and policies on management and the use of finance and public assets. Furthermore, the audit activities have also contributed to the prevention and fight against corruption and the practice of thrift and reducing wastefulness.

Speaking at the session, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan spoke highly of the achievements made by the SAV in the past few years in general and the first eight months in particular.

The NA Chairwoman also urged the SAV to continue to promote its achievements. She noted the difficulties and advantages of the domestic economy, the rapid change of the global situation and the strong impact of the fourth industrial revolution.

The SAV should also actively issue guiding documents to put the Law on State Audit in 2015 into practice and complete the legal basis for state audit activities.
