Health sector betters service quality

(VEN) - The health sector of Hung Yen Province has diversified services while enabling all provincial residents to access healthcare services and gradually improving the quality of its disease diagnosis and treatment.

Nguyen Thi Anh, Director of Hung Yen Province Department of Health, said the provincial health sector has made great efforts to improve healthcare services while implementing preventive medicine and controlling infectious diseases, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

The quality of medical examination and treatment at all levels continues to improve

The provincial Department of Health has strictly inspected and controlled pharmaceutical and cosmetics production, preservation, transport and distribution (including wholesale and retail). Hung Yen Province is home to two pharmaceuticals importers, three pharmaceuticals manufacturers, 24 pharmaceuticals distributors and 1,254 medicine retailers. Hung Yen companies place bids for the purchase of medicines for public medical establishments according to law.

Medical establishments at all levels in the province have been strengthened to increase people’s access to high-quality basic healthcare services, while the provincial health sector has bettered and diversified services, including private and at-home healthcare, Anh said.

Hung Yen Province currently has two general hospitals, six specialized hospitals, five medical centers and two medical divisions at the provincial level, in addition to 10 district-level multi-functional medical centers and 155 commune, ward and township health stations, with a total of more than 4,500 staff.

The quality of medical examination and treatment at all levels continues to be improved. There is good coordination and connection between provincial and district-level medical establishments. The province has received increased assistance from centrally governed hospitals. The provincial health sector combines disease diagnosis and treatment with rehabilitation services, disease prevention and primary health care services while promoting the role of specialized and high-tech medical facilities in technology transfer and providing technical support for the entire healthcare network.

Hung Yen Province is developing satellite hospital projects, including the Pho Noi General Hospital (a satellite hospital of Bach Mai Hospital), a provincial general hospital (a satellite hospital of Viet Duc Hospital and Hanoi Heart Hospital), an obstetrics and pediatrics hospital as a satellite hospital of the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Vietnam National Children's Hospital.
