GM Vietnam showcases global Chevrolet Portfolio at VMS 2015

Chevrolet is putting the spotlight on several models that represent the American brand’s signature styling and performance. It is launching the Chevrolet Colorado High Country, which tops off its Colorado pickup lineup, and introducing the Chevrolet Trax 2015 and Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe 2015.

Farghaly. “It is giving us the opportunity to present our exciting and growing portfolio of Chevrolet vehicles. At the Chevrolet Pavilion, we are showing how our models connect with consumers nationwide.”

Chevrolet Colorado High Country

Designed to appeal to the premium pickup segment to meet the needs of a largely urban target audience, the Chevrolet Colorado High Country features aesthetics and best-in-class technical upgrades that bring a new level of luxury to the nameplate.

Its exterior enhancements include dark chrome mask headlamps, a light gray grille and nudge bar, and a glossy black B-pillar veneer. Further separating it from the pack are transverse roof-rack bars, a stylized sports bar, chromed rear-door belt-line moulding and dual-tone 18-inch wheels.

High Country has a new premium-grade Brown Stone leather interior. Its dashboard and center console are finished in glossy Piano Black trim. The exclusive Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system takes entertainment to a new level.

The pickup is powered by GM’s second-generation Duramax four-cylinder turbo-diesel 2.8L engine that is matched with a six-speed automatic transmission. Among its safety features are two front air bags, rear parking sensors, a new rearview camera, four-wheel anti-lock brakes and a new cruise control system.

Chevrolet Trax 2015

The Chevrolet Trax 2015 is a global small SUV with a dynamic design, great SUV power, a spacious interior and stable sedan-like ride comfort. With its compact dimensions, 18-inch alloy wheels and window-type privacy, it is ideal for urban life. A 230V inverter, a premium Bose^® sound system and hands-free functionality will further please urban customers.

Powering the Trax is a turbocharged ECOTEC 1.4L engine that generates 140 hp. In combination with a Gen 3 six-speed automatic transmission, its efficiency has been improved by 20 percent.

The small SUV also incorporates a broad range of safety features. They include six air bags, rear parking sensors, Hill Start Assist (HSA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC)/Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) including the anti-lock brake system (ABS), the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Roll Over Mitigation (ROM), Straight Line Stability (SLS) and Panic Brake Assist (PBA).

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe 2015

The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe 2015 Z51 3LT sports car is born from precise performance, ingenious design and brilliant engineering. Its strong down force keeps the vehicle planted while functional exterior vents help reduce lift and minimize drag. This also helps air flow from front to back, cooling critical components of the perfectly balanced powertrain.

The Stingray Coupe’s defiant design features sharp, beautifully sculpted lamps that include Bi-Xenon high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, edge-lit LED turn signals framed in a black chrome housing, four-element taillamps that recede into their reverse reflectors for crisp and even lighting, and a high-mounted stop lamp in the aerodynamic rear spoiler.

Inside the Stingray Coupe’s driver-oriented cockpit are Napa leather seats, Chevrolet MyLink with a retractable 8-inch diagonal high-definition color touch screen and a Bose^® 10-speaker premium audio system with bass box.

A completely redesigned 6.2L V-8 engine with an eight-speed paddle shift automatic transmission that generates 460 hp and 630 Nm at 4,600 rpm powers the sports car. It comes with five distinct selectable driver modes (Weather, Eco, Tour, Sport and Track). Supporting its outstanding performance is an all-aluminum space frame that is lighter and stiffer than before, the world’s fastest-acting suspension and Magnetic Ride Control. Safety features such as Active Handling, four-wheel antilock brakes and an intelligent Electronic Limited-Slip Differential add to driving confidence.

Exciting Chevrolet Experience

Joining these three models are other popular vehicles that contributed to Chevrolet’s recent 50,000-unit production and sales milestone in Vietnam: the Cruze, which surpassed 3.5 million sales worldwide earlier this year; the upgraded Captiva SUV; and the modern and functional Orlando MPV.

The Chevrolet Pavilion also features an interactive football activity in addition to impressive live performances. For the first time, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the Oculus virtual-reality driving experience in a Captiva along the Great Ocean Drive in Australia.
