Cat family - A sculptured artwork

(VEN) - With a passion for arts, sculptor and painter Vu Dung from Hanoi’s Hoang Mai District has been working hard to create a breakthrough in his artworks.

To welcome the 2023 lunar year, the year of the cat, Dung has created a special sculpture artwork covered with lacquer, titled “Cat family”.

According to Dung, creating a sculpture is hard, but it is even more difficult to combine sculpture with lacquer, requiring many stages of work, totally by hand, from designing to lacquering and polishing.

Vu Dung said cats are close friends of humans. While sculpturing the “Cat family”, he tried to make the cats as lively as possible, with papa cat featuring strength, determination and firmness, mama cat displaying tenderness, and the kitten with an agile and playful appearance.

The “Cat family” brings wishes for a prosperous and happy new lunar year.

(VEN) - Xoan singing is an ancient art performed during the first two months of the lunar year and designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a valuable intangible cultural heritage of the northern Vietnamese province of Phu Tho.
