BUV Scholarship and Financial Aid Fund opened for 2023
Supporting young people on the journey of exploring and pursuing their passion, British University Vietnam officially launched the Scholarship and Financial Aid Fund for 2023, valued at more than VND42 billion, with a wide range of scholarship programs. The opening date for application is December 4, 2022, and the closing date is March 25, 2023, at 5:00pm.
This is the first year BUV established the Sir Graeme Davies Scholarship to commemorate and honor the contributions to the education of Sir Graeme – Chancellor and Chair of the University Council – who also served as the Vice-Chancellor of University of London between 2003 and 2010. This is a full scholarship applied for students studying a bachelor’s program at BUV, awarded by University of London (UoL) – one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the UK. Founded in 1836, University of London is a federation of 17 self-governing Member Institutions, including the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UCL and Goldsmiths, University of London.

The BUV Scholarship Fund 2023 will continue to offer Vietnamese students prestigious full scholarship programs, including four British Ambassador’s Scholarships for comprehensively outstanding students. The British Ambassador’s Scholarship worth more than VND800 million includes the full tuition of a bachelor’s program at BUV awarded by Staffordshire University (UK), alongside the foundation course. Admission criteria include academic achievements, experiences participating in social and extracurricular activities, and refined personal development goals and plans for the future.
In addition, this year, the Lion’s Heart Scholarship program has been increased to two scholarships with a total value of more than VND2 billion, which expands the opportunity to access British higher education for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who bear a strong determination to overcome difficulties in education and life. Each scholarship, valued at more than VND1 billion, will cover the tuition fees for Pathway programs and an undergraduate course.
Other scholarship programs remain the same with different levels of tuition fee support, including the Founders’ Scholarship, President’s Scholarship, Dean’s Scholarship, Talent Scholarship for students with excellent achievements in the field of sports, culture and art; and Women in IT Scholarship for female students in Computing and Innovative Technology. In addition, the University also offers a Cooperative Scholarship program exclusively for excellent students from BUV's partner high schools, along with a variety of other financial support for outstanding students.
Established in 2018, BUV Scholarship and Financial Aid Fund has made a significant contribution to the community, continuing to journey to light up the education pathway of many talented students irrespective of their financial condition and backgrounds. Hundreds of students have been facilitated to study high-quality British degrees in an international environment and became motivated to constantly discover, research, create opportunities for themselves, and bring value to the community.
Prof. Dr. Raymond Gordon – Vice-chancellor and President of BUV, shared: “BUV has worked hard and is proud to be leading the way in the provision of quality high-education and learning experiences in Vietnam. The university’s mission is to, first and foremost, create graduates who are ‘good’ human beings with ethics of kindness and caring for both people and the environment. Its graduates will also be trained, irrespective of their discipline of study, to be design thinkers and innovators conscious of creating new and exciting opportunities for themselves and the people of Vietnam. Hence, to align with BUV’s mission and its broader commitment to the future of Vietnam, each year, BUV provides scholarship funding to give talented young Vietnamese students the opportunity to realise their education dream and go on to contribute to Vietnam’s future.”
Accreditation and quality assurance are among the top priorities and are regularly conducted by the University. Recently, BUV became the first higher education institution in Vietnam to be certified with an overall rating of 5 stars by the internationally acknowledged QS organization, specifically in the following criteria: teaching, employability, academic development, facilities, social responsibilities, and inclusiveness. Furthermore, the Finance and Economics program of BUV was also honored to receive a 5-star validation from QS for the criterion of Program Strength.
Currently, BUV offers a variety of bachelor programs in four schools: School of Business, School of Hospitality and Tourism, School of Creative Industries, and School of Computing and Innovative Technologies. Each of these schools offers a suite of undergraduate degrees – BUV also offers master’s degrees and short-course programs. In addition, BUV offers English courses and foundation programs that provide a pathway to direct entry into BUV or British and other international universities.
To provide helpful information about scholarships and study opportunities at BUV for high school students, BUV will organize "Unlock BUV's Scholarships 2023” on December 4, 2022.
The event includes a variety of information sessions about the BUV Scholarship Fund for the academic year 2023 shared by BUV’s representatives, tips and guides for preparation and application from BUV scholarship winners. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in demo classes of different bachelor’s programs and intensive counselling sessions with the University’s recruitment officers.
