Bac Giang Province has made greater efforts to promote economic development

Local party committee, government and people have made greater efforts to promote the province’s economic growth towards comprehensive and dynamic development. Bac Giang Province is gradually establishing basic factors to help the local economy rapidly develop in the coming years.

Bac Giang’s economy has recorded fairly impressive growth compared to other provinces in the region. According to the provincial party committee, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) reached 9.4 percent a year during the 2010-2015 period. In the context of economic difficulties facing the country and the world, this figure was acceptable. A report also shows that industry-construction, services and agriculture during the 2010-2015 period witnessed growth of 16.1 percent, 6.8 percent and 4 percent a year, respectively. The GRDP per capita is expected to reach US$1,545 this year, an increase of US$835 compared to 2010. In addition, total social investment capital during this period is expected to stand at VND107.8 trillion, exceeding VND27.8 trillion compared to the set target.

The provincial party committee has also paid special attention to socioeconomic development and national security. Thanks to a consensus between provincial leaders and people, Bac Giang Province’s economy has created a breakthrough.

The Bac Giang Province Party Committee has set out development targets for the 2015-2020 tenure. According to the plan, the GRDP would reach 10-11 percent a year, while industry-construction, services, and agriculture, forestry and fisheries would account for 42-43 percent, 38-39 percent, and 18-20 percent of economic structure, respectively. In addition, the GRDP per capita would stand at US$3,000-3,200 and local budget revenues would total more than VND5.2 trillion, while total social investment capital would reach around VND230 trillion.

To complete targets and ensure rapid, comprehensive and solid economic development, the provincial party committee needs to make greater efforts in enhancing capacity and strengthening the role of local leaders, improving quality of a team of staff, promoting inspection and overseeing to maintain strict discipline of the party committee.
