Ba Ria-Vung Tau steadfastly strengthens long-standing friendly ties with Russia

The guidelines and policies of the Government of Vietnam on cooperation with the Russian Federation form the premise and create favorable conditions for Ba Ria-Vung Tau (BR-VT) province to implement economic cooperation plans and organize cultural exchange activities with its Russian partners.

The province has, in particular, maintained close official ties with two localities of the Russian Federation. The provincial leadership has maintained frequent dialogue with its counterparts in the Russian Federation to carry out in a timely manner joint activities that meet the needs and interests of socio-economic development of both sides.

Agencies and units in the province regularly organize many cultural exchanges, student-student exchanges and other activities on the occasion of holidays and important events related to Vietnam and Russia in general and to the peoples of Russia and BR-VT in particular.

In these exchange programs, colorful performances by artists, folk games and sports activities of the Russians have left deep impressions in the hearts of people of BR-VT.

The Russian Federation is an important partner of BR-VT in investment and trade. Oil and gas exploitation activities under the framework of the Vietnam-Russia Joint Venture "Vietsovpetro" and the Russia-Vietnam Joint Venture "Rusvietpetro" continue to contribute significantly to the province’s economic growth and development. This contributes in turn to strengthening the traditional relationship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

Russian enterprises have invested US$ 100.02 million in the province, in fields such as tourism, oil and gas and repair & maintenance services in the oil and gas industry.

Early this year, the province granted an Investment Certificate to PVGAZPROM Transport Fuel Gas Co. Ltd. for an LNG Gas Production Plant (LNG) with a capacity of 20 million m3/day.

The Russian Federation also happens to be an important import and export partner of the province in items such as seafood, agricultural products, garment, machinery and equipment.

In the coming time, BR-VT will continue strengthening friendship and cooperation with the Russian Federation in all socio-economic and cultural fields, contributing positively to the socioeconomic development of the province in particular and Vietnam in general. This will also be its contribution to effective implementation of the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.
