Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Thuan agree on long-term tourism cooperation

Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Binh Thuan provinces sign an agreement on tourism cooperation on November 23, 2019

The agreement was signed on November 23, 2019 in the presence of senior officials from national and provincial tourism agencies as well as several businesses from both provinces.

The cooperation will be based on the principles of consensus, diversity and pragmatism towards ensuring sustainable tourism development in both provinces, officials said.

It will be centered in four main areas: exchange of information on the status of tourism development; developing diverse tourism products; effective tourism promotion campaigns; and attracting investment for tourism projects.

They will work to establish routes to tourist destinations in both provinces, using the advantage of having common administrative boundaries to facilitate travel by road.

Officials said both provinces have long and beautiful beaches where various types of tourism can be developed, including resorts and sports tourism.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Trinh Hang, Director of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Department of Tourism proposed solutions to improve state management of tourism including maintaining diversity in the products of both localities and exploiting potential through various promotion initiatives including participation in tourism events.

Ngo Minh Chinh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan Province, informed the audience about a festival called "Binh Thuan - The Second Green Convergence" to be held from April 18- 21, 2020. The festival will have a program with many cultural and sports events, he said. It will also have a conference on the national tourism management model that will be chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, he added.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vo Trinh Trieu, Director of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, expressed appreciation for the cooperation agreement and pledged the center’s contribution for the initiative throughout the six years.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau shares its eastern border with Binh Thuan. Its location and climate have delivered many tourism advantages to the southern coastal province. It is also located in the most dynamic region of Vietnam's economy, and can attract tourists from all directions – the southeast, southwest and Ho Chi Minh City. The amount of sunshine it gets during the year, relatively stable air temperatures, no winters and fewer storms are factors that give the province a distinct advantage over the northern and central coastal provinces in tourism development.

Its coast is 305.4 km long, with about 156 km of soft sandy beaches and blue waters ideal for vacations almost throughout the year. It offers various types of accommodations and a many marine sports for visitors to enjoy.
