Ambiente 2017: Ideal consumer-goods destination
|
Ambiente 2017 will consist of three major exhibition areas: Dining, Living, and Giving. The entire eastern part of the exhibition center, with Halls 1 to 6, will introduce the latest trends in the Dining sector. Giving and Living will occupy the western part of the exhibition center.
“Ambiente is the center of the global consumer-goods market. Exhibitors from more than 90 countries will be showcasing their products and setting new trends for 2017”, said Stephan Kurzawski, Senior Vice President of Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH.
Highlights in 2017
For the first time this year, there will be a lecture area in the ‘Accessories and Jewelry’ section in Hall 9.2, which will not only concern itself with jewelry and fashion topics, but will also offer practical tips for retailers more generally.
As usual, the key trends for table, kitchen, home furnishings and gifts will be presented at Ambiente 2017. The well-known and distinguished Trend Bureau, bora.herke.palmisano, will identify four scenarios from their research and will stage these in a large special display.
Visitors will find some very clever ideas in the special display entitled ‘Solutions’. Its designer and curator, Sebastian Bergne, will be showcasing creative solutions from Ambiente exhibitors, with a particular emphasis on dining tables, kitchens, and household utensils. The selected products, which all have something special about them, will be presented in short video clips. In 2017, Ambiente also offers the framework for numerous award ceremonies. The Design Plus Award honors products that skillfully combine aesthetics with functionality, and displays them during the show in their own exhibition. This year, there is to be a special display on the subject of ‘Ethical Style’. The German Design Award will be presented on the first day of the show. Visitors will be able to see the products for themselves in an impressive dedicated exhibition. The Kitchen Innovation Award and the Plagiarius negative award for product piracy will also be presented at Ambiente.
The new Partner Country for the leading world trade fair in 2017 is Great Britain. After the Italian Tricolore, it is the Union Jack that will fly over the proceedings at the next Ambiente show. And there will be displays of products from British manufacturers in an extensive presentation organized by the Partner Country. Along with the UK display “Providence & Provenance”, there will again be a special café designed by Bethan Gray Design Studio to reflect the Partner Country. On the Monday show, there will be, traditionally, a themed day, based on the respective Partner Country. The ‘Great Britain Day’ will be organized by British exhibitors, who will be inviting trade fair visitors to various events and presentations.
In addition, the ‘Talents’ and ‘Next’ areas are exactly the right place to be for buyers in search of new and original product ideas. The promotional programs represent major steps on the career ladder for these young up-and-coming designers. The young talents from the Dining/Contemporary Design areas will be exhibiting their innovative design products in Hall 4.0 as usual.

At Ambiente 2016, around 270 exhibitors showcased their tailor-made solutions for hotel and restaurant furnishings and made the show a veritable hotspot for the HoReCa and contract markets.
Professionals and decision makers from the hotel and hospitality trades, including project developers, professional buyers, interior architects and designers, restaurateurs and high-end hotel managers can find here exactly the contacts they need in the field of equipment and furnishings for the HoReCa trades, as well as contract and commercial suppliers more generally, and can thus place specific orders to meet their exact requirements.
The ‘Passage’, at the heart of Ambiente, has become an established feature in international volume sales. At Ambiente 2016, around 1,500 exhibitors from 57 nations presented a broad and extremely international range of products in five halls covering a total area of 50,000sq.m.
Short distances separated the stands of exhibitors offering volume sales, who came from China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Hong Kong (China), Morocco, the Philippines, South Africa, and Vietnam. The ‘Passage’ sourcing areas offered people an opportunity to look for relevant contacts and order directly from manufacturers. Products ranged from industrially produced items to hand-made goods sold in bulk quantities, as well as solutions in the field of customized products.
Gathering 4,367 exhibitors from 96 countries, Ambiente 2016 showcased their new products and innovations in exhibition halls totaling 308,000sq.m. Fifty-five percent of trade and professional visitors to the five-day trade fair came from outside Germany. The top ten countries in terms of visitor number, after Germany, included Italy, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, China, Spain, the US, Switzerland, South Korea, and Turkey. Vietnam was represented by 57 companies and ranked 19th among exhibitor nations. In terms of visitor number, Vietnam stood at the 48th position. Of the 137,000 visitors to the show from 143 countries, 303 came from Vietnam. Sixty-five Vietnamese exhibitors are expected to attend Ambiente 2017. |
