Yen Bai is beautiful and charming with picturesque landscapes. Terraced fields, waterfalls and ancient tea gardens are something that leaves an unforgettable impression on visitors to the province. Coming to Yen Bai, guests shouldn’t miss the opportunity to explore the Mu Cang Chai nature reserve, the Thac Ba Lake with thousands of islands and caves of all sizes, the Suoi Giang tourist site located over 1,400m above sea level, where they can enjoy the cool weather, tranquil atmosphere, pure air, admire 300 years old tea trees, and share weal with locals in traditional festivals of the province-based minority ethnic groups. For many years, Yen Bai has become an important destination on the Phu Tho - Yen Bai - Lao Cai route and attracted a large number of domestic and foreign visitors.
Although Yen Bai has the huge tourism development potential, infrastructure in the province is inadequate and needs to be improved to satisfy visitor’s demands. Yen Bai has been calling and will continue to call for investment in tourism in general and tourism infrastructure in particular. The province is promoting propaganda to improve the tourism development awareness of provincial people and authorities at different levels, while investing in infrastructure, advertising provincial tourist offerings, and connecting tours and tourist routes.
Thanks to its open policies, Yen Bai has attracted many large investment projects, contributing to tourism development in the province. Notable projects include the VND683-billion, 195ha Yen Bai Star Golf course in Minh Quan Commune, the Vingroup’s VND685.3-billion Vincom Shophouse Yen Bai project in the Yen Hoa Park in the city of Yen Bai, the Hoa Sen Yen Bai Joint Stock Company’s VND1.2-trillion trade, hotel, restaurant and event center project in Dong Tam Ward in the city of Yen Bai, the MCC Trading and Investment Joint Stock Company’s VND1.25-trillion Yen Bai Mountain Economic Complex project in Nam Khat Commune in Mu Cang Chai District, and more.
With infrastructure, human resource and tourist offering development efforts, Yen Bai’s tourism sector is expected to boom in the coming period and become a spearhead industry in the region.
Yen Bai is actively preparing for the 2017 National Tourism Year, which is a notable national and international event for promoting tourism development in the northwestern region and attracting more domestic and foreign visitors to the region.
