The above statement was made by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang at a workshop on establishing linkages in agricultural production based on a model of Food Valley Group from the Netherlands on June 14.
CEO of the Dutch firm Roger Van Hoesel at the workshop introduced their linkage chain and discussed cooperation opportunities with the province, including human resource training, technical transfer, food processing techniques and farm management.
Despite strengths in agriculture, the province should work to enhance product quality while applying more automatic processing chains, he added.
Chairman Nguyen Van Quang expressed his hope for more visits and working sessions between the company and the province to share information and experience, thus setting up a Food Valley Group-based linkage chain in local agricultural production.
Later at the meeting to review the working session held on June 15, CEO Roger Van Hoesel said he was impressed by the local fruits and fish farming after visiting some agricultural production models in the province.
He also said the local farm produce, especially fruits had great potential for export to the EU.
