(VEN) - The State Bank of Vietnam and the World Bank (WB) recently signed preferential loan and credit agreements with total value of US$450 million aiming to help Vietnam improve environmental hygiene in Ho Chi Minh City.
This money will be used to finance the second stage of the Ho Chi Minh City Environmental Sanitation project. As part of the strategic partnership between WB and Ho Chi Minh City, the project aims to help the city promote economic growth and urban development, including flood management and efforts to improve urban services.
The project consists of a wastewater treatment plant catering for the Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe area and part of District 2. Wastewater pipelines and sewers will be installed in District 2. The project will also provide technical assistance to help Ho Chi Minh City improve environmental hygiene and wastewater treatment.
