The Vinh Phuc Industry Promotion Center has focused on supporting local rural industrial bases to develop
This year, the Vinh Phuc Department of Industry and Trade has approved a plan to support 25 rural industrial bases in applying new production technologies and equipment, which have been positively deployed by the Vinh Phuc Industry Promotion Center in collaboration with related agencies.
In late November 2015, the center supported Pham Van Thai’s industrial base to purchase wood-working machinery and equipment, including a multi-chisel machine. The new machinery and equipment have helped the base increase monthly wood production to 20cu.m and record nearly VND1 billion in annual revenue.
In early December 2015, the center supported Nguyen Van Ly’s industrial base to purchase plastic steel core door manufacturing machinery and equipment, including a two-bladed cutter. The new machinery and equipment have helped the base increase monthly door production to 500sq.m worth VND500 million and employ six workers earning VND5 million a month.
The center has also provided financial support for several other local industrial bases to purchase new machinery and equipment including Nguyen Van Toan’s antique roof tile production facility, Duong Van Minh’s wood-working facility and Dang Van Luu’s plastic film and bag production facility.
However, the center has faced difficulties while carrying out support projects as the majority of local industrial bases are small-scale, are inexperienced in production and trading and are too dependent on financial support. Moreover, low industry promotion funding levels have also discouraged industrial bases from participating in industry promotion projects.
In addition, the province has failed to establish a system of key industrial bases in craft villages and concentrated industrial development zones. Some craft villages and concentrated industrial development zones have received investment in infrastructure development but have failed to attract local industrial bases due to the work not being finished.
To overcome these difficulties and better implement industry promotion projects, Vinh Phuc will in the coming time focus on establishing a system of key industrial bases in craft villages and concentrated industrial development zones which will act as major material suppliers and goods distributors, replicate new technology and equipment application and technical demonstration models to enhance production capacity and product quality and intensively invest in trade promotion activities including upgrading showrooms for local industrial products.
