The Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (VINATEX) celebrated its 20th anniversary at a ceremony in Hanoi on Saturday. President Truong Tan Sang and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh attended the event.
The group received the Labor Hero title on this occasion
Mr. Ninh praised the textile and garment sector’s outstanding development during Vietnam’s renewal, making Vietnam one of the world’s 5 leading garment and textile producers and exporters. He said: “The group should make greater efforts to increase its export revenue to 6 billion USD and create jobs for 300,000 workers.
The group should increase the competitiveness of its product to penetrate new markets now that Vietnam has signed a number of free trade agreements. Priority should be given to upgrading technology and modernizing equipment toward increasing productivity, saving energy, and protecting the environment.”/.
