The Vietnam Dairy Products JSC (Vinamilk) organised a program entitled ‘Vietnam Dairy Dream’ at the Hanoi-based National Convention Centre on August 20 to mark its 40th anniversary of establishment (August 20, 1976-2016).

The program has recreated the development of Vinamilk over the past 40 years, from its inception after the national liberation amidst a range of difficulties to the current phase with its overwhelming the market share in the segment of liquid milk.7
In overseas markets, Vinamilk has repeatedly fulfilled contracts for the partners in various countries worldwide, including difficult markets such as the US, the UK, Germany, and Canada.
Only in the past ten years since its equitisation, Vinamilk has contributed to the State budget at an average of over VND3 trillion (US$135 million) a year. It has been in the list of Top 100 most valuable companies in Southeast Asia, Top 300 enterprises in Asia and Top 50 best Vietnamese listed businesses.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh emphasised that Vinamilk is seen as a typical example of the dynamism and resurgence in overcoming difficulties and reaching out to Vietnamese people and the Vietnamese business community.
It is also among the successful examples of the government’s equitisation policy and one of the typical Vietnamese corporate branding with quality products that is capable of competing in both domestic and international markets.
Vinamilk is also one of the leading businesses that has aided social programmes with its major products, especially for children.
Vice President Thinh expressed her wishes that the company would continue promoting its achievements more far-reaching Vinamilk brand in Vietnam and international community.
She urged the company leaders to be more active in expanding market research, decisive on strategic production policies, and strengthen management capacity building and skill development for the next generations of leaders and workers.
It also needs to promote scientific and technological applications in production and continue to take care of the material and spiritual lives of workers, along with enhancing social activities and building strong labour unions for the company’s truly comprehensive growth.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan awarded the third-class Independence Order to Vinamilk for the second time in recognition of its development and contributions over the past time.
On the occasion, Vinamilk donated VND14 billion to needy students of 14 localities across the country and offered VND6billion to provinces which have implemented the School Milk program offering free milk to school pupils. It also donated milk to 40,000 disadvantaged children in 40 provinces and cities nationwide worth VND22.5 billion./.
