Licences were granted to 47 Vietnamese projects in 22 countries and territories with capital totalling US$155.4 million in the first half of 2015, the Foreign Investment Agency has reported.

Laos was the largest recipient at US$53.9 million, accounting for more than one third of total Vietnamese investment in the first months of the year.
The United States came second with US$50.8 million in seven new projects and one existing. Vietnam’s investment in Germany was the third largest at US$17 million, equivalent of 17% of the total.
In terms of the number of projects, Myanmar was the largest investment destination of Vietnamese enterprises with eight new projects, followed by the United States.
Vietnamese investment was mainly concentrated on the mining sector with US$42.5 million or 27.4% of the total. Wholesale, retail and motor vehicle servicing businesses had a total investment of US$39.3 million.
Financial and insurance services were also a major area of investment for Vietnamese enterprises, accounting for 19% of Vietnam’s overseas investment in the January-June period./.
