Vietnam’s exports to Germany up 8.6 pct in five months

Vietnam’s exports to Germany hit US$2.85 billion in the first five months of this year, up 8.6% compared to the same period last year.

Tea exports to Germany posted the highest growth rate at 132.3 pct

Mobile phones and computer components, apparel, footwear, coffee, farm produce and aquatic products made up the majority of the country’s exports.

Of the items, six earned more than US$100 million, including mobile phones and components (US$851.44 million), accounting for 29.8 pct of the total, a 16.2 pct increase year on year.

Tea posted the highest growth of 132.3 pct to US$0.97 million while confectioneries and cereals soared 122.6 pct to US$10.99 million.

Others include chemicals with 72.5 pct growth (US$4.15 million), iron and steel up 52.4 pct (US$2.74 million), cashew nuts up 49.2 pct (US$42.06 million) and fruits and vegetables rising 31 pct (US$6.17 million).
