Could you briefly summarize the achievements of permanent Vietnamese goods sales points?

The Inter-sectoral Domestic Market Development Steering Committee has approved the pilot establishment of permanent Vietnamese goods sales points in 23 centrally-run cities and provinces across the country during the 2014-2020 implementation of the Domestic Market Development project associated with the Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign.

These points have been set up in remote areas, industrial parks and clusters with the intention to providing local consumers with easy access to domestically-produced goods, including local specialties, which meet criteria for quality and are reasonably priced.

To date, 29 permanent Vietnamese goods sales points have been set up in 23 provinces and cities nationwide and are recording increasing sales and revenue, which has encouraged the Ministry of Industry and Trade to continue to boost the establishment of permanent Vietnamese goods sales points based on private investment and other resources in the coming time.

Permanent Vietnamese goods sales points have helped businesses increase both sales and revenue considerably at local levels.

What about the role of businesses in the establishment of permanent Vietnamese goods sales points?

Businesses have played an important role in the establishment of these sales points. In addition to state assistance, businesses that have pooled a large sum of money to set up the points and purchase goods are committed to maintaining the points until 2020.

For example, Lan Chi Mart has set up a Vietnamese goods sales point in the Dong Van 1 Industrial Zone in Ha Nam Province to cater to the demand of workers. Although the point has been in operation for only several months, it has provided a full range of local specialties and has attracted a lot of workers in the zone.

What measures will be taken to further improve the effectiveness of the Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign?

In an effort to promote the Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign and sustainable goods production, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue supporting the Pride of Vietnamese Goods shows, implement the Vietnamese Goods Identification program annually and nationally and focus on the construction of a nationwide Vietnamese goods distribution network.
