According to the deal signed in Hanoi on December 15,Vinacomin will supply 300,000 tonnes of alumina per year for EGA in three consecutive years as raw material for EGA’s aluminum electrolytic plants.

This is the Vinacomin’s first long-term contract signed with a partner in the Middle East which is in line with the guidance of the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade on developing relations with Middle East and African countries in the 2016-2025 period.

Along with long-term contracts signed with partners from India, Switzerland, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and others, this deal will contribute to ensuring Vinacomin’s consumption of alumina in different markets across the world.

Abdulla Kalban, CEO of EGA expressed his pleasure at the signing of the contract with Vinacomin, emphasising that the contract will be a good start towards the expansion of the cooperation between EGA and Vinacomin in the future.

General Director of Vinacomin Dang Thanh Hai also believes that this contract will contribute to promoting trade cooperation between Vinacomin and EGA in particular and between Vietnam and the UAE in general in the near future.

EGA is the largest industrial company in the UAE outside oil and gas. EGA also has more than 40 years of experience in aluminum production with an output up to 2.4 million tonnes per year.
