Vietnam, Palestine enhance long-standing cooperation

A ceremony was held in Hanoi on November 29 to mark the 30th anniversary of Vietnam – Palestine diplomatic ties (November 19, 1988-2018) and the United Nations International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (November 29).

Speaking at the event, President of the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Ho Anh Dung, said that Vietnam and Palestine have a traditional friendship and long-standing cooperation.

Over the past 30 years, the cooperation between the two countries has been continuously strengthened and developed, particularly through many high-level visits paid by their leaders.

The Vietnam Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People and Vietnam – Palestine Friendship Association have coordinated with Palestinian Embassy in Vietnam to organise various activities promoting the solidarity between the two peoples.

Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam, Saadi Salama, stressed that the traditional cooperation between Vietnam and Palestine is a pride and precious asset of the two countries.

On behalf of Palestine’s leaders and people, the Ambassador extended his sincere gratitude to the Vietnamese Government and people for their support to the Palestinian people's just struggle for its basic national rights.

At the ceremony, the UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam Kamal Malhotra read UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres's message on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
