Travel agencies and tour operators have introduced a range of domestic tours, with unprecedented discounts of up to 70 percent. Promotion packages are sold until the end of the year, targeting famous and attractive destinations such as Phu Quoc, Quy Nhon, Tuy Hoa, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, Buon Me Thuot, and Can Tho. Nguyen Tien Dat, director of the AZA Travel Company, said that thanks to the support of airlines and hotels, services are still guaranteed despite discounts of up to 70 percent.

The domestic tourism market is slowly recovering thanks to the launch of stimulus programs and the control of the Covid-19 pandemic nationwide. Nguyen Minh Man, marketing director of the TST Tourist, said many customers are looking for domestic trips.

Domestic tourism is currently a lifeline for Vietnamese airlines and travel agencies as international tourism activities will take a long time to recover. The tourism sector should thoroughly grasp this opportunity to promote the domestic market, gradually increasing the number of tourists as well as helping the recovery of many travel firms. In particular, close and synchronous coordination among parties is vital to ensure the efficiency and effectives of stimulus programs.

Almost all tourists are now most concerned about safe destinations and services. Therefore, travel agencies and tour operators should focus on information dissemination on safe destinations, while updating the situation and service fees, including air tickets, accommodation costs and entry fees.

In addition to promoting tourism, state management agencies have issued recommendations on how to ensure tourist safety and urged travel agencies to comply with the directions of local authorities in efforts to prevent and control the pandemic.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has coordinated with localities and relevant authorities on a program

called “Vietnamese travel around Vietnam” with a series of stimulus packages to promote the domestic tourism

market.
