(VEN) - The annual weeklong celebration of Vietnam’s rich cultural and ethnic diversity was held in April at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi.
Themed “Colorful Harmony”, the event included performances and displays of the customs, arts and lifestyle of the country’s 54 recognized ethnic groups.
Some 270 performers took part in the various activities including representatives of the H’mong, Thai, Tay, E De, X’tieng, Muong, Dao, Ta Oi, Co Tu, Xe Dang, Bahnar, Raglai and Khmer ethnic groups. Also on hand were artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
The annual event reflects a determined effort to preserve and promote ethnic cultures in the northern and central regions of Vietnam.
