(VEN) - Vietnam Expo 2018, opening in Hanoi on April 11 for the 28th time, focused on the display of machines, construction materials, information technology, food, and healthcare products. With a growing number of participants, the annual fair is one of the major trade promotion events for the Vietnamese industry and trade sector. The expo also includes business connection activities, consultations and workshops.
Themed “Enhancing regional and global economic links”, the event enabled domestic business representatives to meet and discuss cooperation opportunities with foreign partners instead of going abroad. In previous years, hundreds of cooperation contracts and memorandums of understanding were signed at the expos.
Russia was a featured guest at Vietnam Expo 2018, with a national pavilion covering 520sq.m, presenting machinery and technologies in fields such as aviation, mining, railways, precise engineering, automation and biotechnology.
VIST Group Marketing Director Tatiana Khamanova said VIST would present a software system for use in the mining, metallurgy, electricity, science and telecommunications sectors. This system has been used in Russia, Africa and South America, helping resolve complicated problems in mining management. The group hopes to find suitable Vietnamese partners through Vietnam Expo 2018.
Vietnam Expo 2018 brought together companies that have won the Vietnam Value title and those owning strong brands, as well as startups and reputable agricultural businesses. The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) arranged an industrial investment and development promotion pavilion to provide updated information about the investment environment in Vietnam.
Vietnam Expo 2018 marked the 20th year that the Republic of Korea (RoK) put up a national pavilion at the event. Some 132 RoK companies were also present at 150 pavilions. The Vietnam-Korea Design Center, set up by Vietrade and the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, has provided consultancy to help Vietnamese businesses improve their design capabilities and survey market demand, inspiring their creative ideas.
Business connection and trade promotion activities at Vietnam Expo were expected to contribute to increasing economic cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK for mutual benefits, President of the RoK Moon Jae-in said during his recent visit to Vietnam.
|Vietnam Expo 2018 took place from April 11-14 at the Hanoi International Center for Exhibition (ICE) and was expected to welcome about 20,000 domestic and foreign visitors. The expo consisted of more than 500 pavilions and attract the participation of 450 businesses from 23 countries and territories, including Egypt, Cambodia, Cuba, Chinese Taipei, the RoK, Hong Kong (China) and Laos.
