(VEN) - The 25th Vietnam International Trade Fair (Vietnam Expo 2015) took place between April 15 and 18 attracted around 600 Vietnamese and foreign businesses. With a theme of enhancing cooperation in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), the fair offered practical opportunities for businesses in promoting exports and expanding investment.
Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency Director Bui Huy Son said that the fair had made big changes after 24-time organization thanks to the participation of large companies and the maintenance of trade promotion and product design booths in order to increase added value for Vietnamese goods.
Vietnam Expo 2015 brought together more than 600 businesses with 700 booths including 312 Vietnamese businesses with 384 booths and 288 foreign companies with 366 booths in such fields of agricultural machinery and equipment, building materials, garment and textile materials, leather and footwear, textile machinery, food, beverages and food additives. In addition, trade forums and advisory activities were included in the fair.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that with a theme of enhancing cooperation in the AEC, Vietnam Expo 2015 was a positive activity representing Vietnam’s commitments in regional economic integration towards the establishment of the AEC by the end of this year. The fair also created favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to promote exports, dominate the domestic market and implement the Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign.
Offering cooperation opportunities
The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency firstly introduced the buyvietnam.com.vn website with the goals of supporting export businesses, advertising Vietnamese goods and services and seeking potential customers.
The Republic of Korea (RoK) Ambassador to Vietnam Jun Dae Joo said that this was the 17th time the RoK participated in Vietnam Expo. The RoK joined the fair this year as a country of honor. “We are happy to see an increase in the number of RoK businesses in the fair by the year. Vietnam Expo 2015 sees the participation of 81 RoK businesses in food, beverages, consumer goods, cosmetics and medical equipment. The organization of the fair brings a significant meaning, contributing to offering opportunities for businesses between the two countries in order to promote trade and investment cooperation,” Jun Dae Joo said.
The Czech Republic also witnessed the participation of 11 businesses in this year’s fair in machinery, electronics, consumer goods, food and beverages. Czech Trade Promotion Agency General Director Radomil Dolezal said that the participation in this year’s fair contributed to introducing high-quality products to Vietnam as well as confirming the Czech Republic as a trusted trade partner. “We regularly join Vietnam Expo to introduce the best quality products to Vietnam in order to establish new bilateral relations. I hope Czech businesses will find out manufacturers and distributors in this country,” Radomil Dolezal added.
