The MoU between the two ministries aims to enhance cooperation, exchange experiences and coordinate in the field of employment and vocational training. The two sides will share experiences on law compliance and enforcement, labor inspection, settlement of labor disputes, social insurance, labour protection, and occupational health and safety.

In particular, the MoU also highlighted cooperation between the two countries in the management of migrant workers. It will also create conditions for workers in border areas to register legal papers as well as create papers for those who have been granted with a work permit to continue their work legally.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung emphasised that the Vietnamese Government and the MoLISA have always encouraged provinces who share a border with Cambodian localities to strengthen and promote cooperative activities in the management of migrant workers, housing, poverty reduction, vocational training, and medical treatment for disadvantaged workers.

The two ministers also agreed to direct relevant units to closely coordinate in promoting the MOU in the most effective manner, as well as develop a specific implementation plan for each stage.
