Vietnam Beverage is the entity that executes of the program, coordinating with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, with the support of Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, C-Asean Company and Sirivadhanabhakdi Foundation.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Tran Kim Nga - General Director of Vietnam Beverage said: “Sustainable development and corporate social responsibility are one of our operational objectives in Vietnam. In particular, education is the top priority of Vietnam Beverage's community activities. The recent storms and floods in the central provinces caused heavy damage to the education sector, many schools were deeply damaged, teaching equipment was swept away… We are delighted to accompany Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to contribute to the journey of restoring destroyed schools and help students study in a better condition.
We believe that supporting the education sector, taking care of the students - the country's future are the most practical activities to contribute to building a stronger Vietnam’s society and economy”, added Mrs. Nga.
At the event, Mr. Phung Khanh Tai - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee expressed his respect to the heart for the community through the meaningful support of Vietnam Beverage for the people in Central Vietnam who suffered particularly heavy losses in the recent storms and floods. He also pledged to transfer all this money to the schools that the Company wanted to support. “I hope that Vietnam Beverage will continue to accompany the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to have more community activities in the coming time”, said Mr.Tài.
According to statistics, storms and floods happened last October in the central provinces have caused dozens of teachers and students killed, many schools flooded deeply, teaching equipment and books were washed away and damaged. .., damage estimated at more than 600 billion. Quang Ngai, Quang Binh and Ha Tinh were the three provinces that suffered heavy losses. The leaders of the education sector called on organizations and individuals to continue supporting the education sector in Central Vietnam to overcome difficulties.
In the coming time, the 1.5 billion VND donation will be transferred to schools on the list of 3 provinces agreed by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Vietnam Beverage Company. The parties will quickly repair facilities as well as buy new learning equipment to create conditions for students and teachers to stabilize their teaching and learning early. Thereafter, the program will maintain the necessary steps to ensure and maintain the improvement and recovery of these schools.
Although it has just been in operation for more than 3 years, Vietnam Beverage has actively implemented and participated in many useful community responsibility activities.
