Vietnam is willing to promote its role as a bridge connecting the ASEAN Economic Community and China, whilst working with ASEAN nations to accelerate their cooperation across various spheres, to maintain peace and stability, and address any differences for the benefit of all parties, so that economic and trade cooperation activities take place smoothly, thus actively contributing to common peace, cooperation, development and prosperity in the region, he said.
Highlighting the advantages and potential of ASEAN-China cooperation, Binh stated that the editions of CAEXPO and CABIS have significantly contributed to facilitating the strategic partnership between ASEAN and China in an extensive fashion.
Vietnam always respects and actively participates in CAEXPO versions, he said, adding that this year Vietnam is being represented by over 250 pavilions at the fair, the largest number among the ASEAN countries.
The deputy PM introduced Vietnam’s potential as well as its determination to proactively and actively integrate into the international community and responsibly contribute to common regional and global issues.
Vietnam has built strategic and comprehensive partnerships with many key partners, whilst developing economic and trade relations with 224 countries and territories around the world, and is considered one of the most successful developing nations in regards to foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction, he said.
Binh added that Vietnam is working towards sustainable growth on the basis of enhancing the quality of growth, and taking advantage of the opportunities posed by the fourth industrial revolution in order to increase labour productivity and competitiveness and climb to the upper echelons of the global value chain.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Chinese Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli reviewed the cooperation policies and activities between China and ASEAN over the past few years, whilst proposing a number of policies and directions for bilateral cooperation in the near future, including strengthening political trust in order to create a solid premise for the acceleration of cooperation across all spheres.
Over the past 14 years, the CAEXPO and CABIS have become important mechanisms to facilitate the friendship exchange and multi-field cooperation between the ASEAN countries and China, while also becoming a destination for businesses from China and ASEAN nations, as well as partner outside the region, he stated.
