(VEN) - The Trade Union of the Van Dien Fused Magnesium Phosphate Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (VADFCO) pays great attention to improving the lives of its staff members and workers. Therefore, all staff members and workers of the company have brought their solidarity into play to overcome difficulties and achieved impressive production and business results.
Diverse activities in the 2012-2017 period
In the recent period, fertilizer businesses encountered numerous difficulties due to the global financial crisis, fierce market competition, crop restructuring, the state’s macroeconomic policies, and recruitment difficulties. VADFCO was no exception.
Despite these difficulties, the company has been able to maintain its growth in terms of production value and sales, as well as its position among leading fertilizer businesses in Hanoi. In the 2012-2017 period, VADFCO has been a strong brand in the domestic and global fertilizer markets, with production value, sales and per capita income growing 3.11 percent, five percent and 20 percent, respectively.
Solidarity has been an important factor contributing to the company’s success. With a total of 467 staff members and workers, the company has maintained effective coordination between the general director and the trade union executive committee to protect the rights and legitimate interests of its staff members and workers.
VADFCO always ensures stable jobs and incomes for 100 percent of its workers. The average level of staff member and worker salaries is VND11.5 million per person per month. The company’s trade union has launched role model campaigns to encourage its staff members and workers to bring into play their creativity to contribute to successful implementation of the company’s tasks, as well as the realization of its production and business development targets. In response to these campaigns, 170 creative ideas have been proposed, many of which have been applied successfully in practice. More than 90 technical improvement initiatives have been applied in production, yielding benefits totaling over VND100 billion for the company.
VADFCO also pays great attention to training to improve the qualifications and skills of their staff members and workers. Over the past five years, the company has organized rank promotion examinations for 568 staff members and workers to be paid higher salaries.
Along with the technical work, the company’s trade union takes much care of the lives of its members, as well as social activities. For the past five consecutive years, VADFCO Trade Union has been recognized to be a strong and excellent grassroots-level trade union. It has received certificates of merit from the prime minister and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (2012); a high-profile banner from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (2013); high-profile banners from the Vietnam National Union of Workers in Industry and Trade for three consecutive years (2014, 2015, 2016); certificates of merit from the Labor Confederation of Labor of Hanoi’s Thanh Tri District for five consecutive years (2010-2015), and a certificate of merit for a trade union with excellent results (2016).
Further enhancing efficiency
Recently, VADFCO Trade Union successfully organized the 28th congress to elect its executive committee members for the 2017-2022 tenure.
In the 2017-2022 period, the company’s trade union will continue its renovation efforts and concentrate on protecting the rights and legitimate interests of workers, while at the same time participating in management activities to ensure stable jobs and incomes for workers. Along with ensuring occupational safety and health, the trade union will make further efforts to improve worker lives.
In addition, the trade union will encourage 100 percent of its members to participate in role model campaigns to contribute to the realization of production and sales targets set by the company annually. Every year, 100 percent of VADFCO’s workers will be provided with training on occupational safety and health, fire and explosion prevention, and technical skills. From 10 to 15 trade union members will be recommended to become party members. All trade unions of the company’s divisions are expected to be recognized as strong trade unions.
