Good for plants and soil

VADFCO’s natural mineral fertilizers are environment and user-friendly because the company uses neither chemicals nor chemical reactions but the entire production process is based on physical heating methods.

Specifically, input materials, such as apatite ore, serpentine and sandstone, are fused at a temperature of more than 1,000 degrees Celsius to break their natural inert structures and then undergo sudden cooling to prevent the recovery of their original forms. The next steps include drying, grinding, rolling into balls and packaging.

Fused phosphate fertilizers, in general, and VADFCO’s products, in particular, do not dissolve in water but in the environment of exudations from the roots of plants, allowing plants to absorb nutritional substances from the soil and not polluting water resources. This advantage distinguishes fused phosphate different from most other types of fertilizer.

Since they do not dissolve in water, fused fertilizers cannot be washed away by rainwater or evaporate. Therefore, the amount of fertilizer remaining in soils after one crop can be used for the next crops.

Environment-friendly

Along with producing fertilizer products that are good for plants and environment-friendly, VADFCO pays great attention to protecting the environment around its production facilities. The company has improved exhaust fume, wastewater and dust treatment systems, looking towards the elimination of all solid and liquid wastes to meet new requirements of the Law on Environmental Protection, while at the same time improving the company’s face and working condition.

VADFCO has also used compressed rice husk instead of anthracite to dry fertilizer in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, eliminate coal residues and minimize environmental pollution. This change has enabled the company to save VND5 billion each year.

From 2012-2015, the company invested nearly VND10 billion in the installation of an additional seven dust filters to create a cleaner working environment and reduce work intensity for its employees. This effort has enabled VADFCO to save more than VND1 billion annually.

The company has conducted research and invested in a circular wastewater treatment system that enables it to treat 100 percent of wastewater and rainwater for reuse.

This project was completed and put into operation in 2013. It was one of the three projects designated to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnamese chemical sector in 2014. The circular wastewater treatment system allows VADFCO to save 12-13 million cu.m of water and more than five million kWh of electricity, or about VND10 billion, each year.

In the past, VADFCO used lump ore to treat solid waste, wasting 30-35 percent of fine ore. The company has conducted research to briquette ore scraps, using additives, for use in solid waste treatment. With support of technological solutions, the company can recover 100 percent of solid waste for use as material for fused phosphate fertilizer production, minimizing environmental pollution.

In the context of fierce competition in the fertilizer market, VADFCO deeply understands that creating environment-

friendly products is the key to its sustainable development.
