The Covid-19 pandemic has once again resurged, causing many challenges for public health as well as posting threats to families, businesses and communities. As a responsible corporate citizen, URC Vietnam chooses not to stand out of this combat but actively participate in the pandemic fighting, for the well-being of its consumers and the communities.
URC Vietnam actively joined hands in fighting Covid-19 since the very beginning of this combat in Vietnam
In the past few weeks, Vietnam has witnessed the second wave of Covid-19, starting from central region. The resurgence struck the whole country with its significant impact, not only on the public healthcare but also on economic and social welfare. The government is mobilizing all workforces from medical staff to border guards to monitor and control the disease. Hence, it is a high time for everyone to join hands and fight together to win this combat.
As one of the leading food and beverage producers in Vietnam, URC Vietnam takes responsibility to join hands with relevant authorities and frontline workforces to overcome this challenging period. Since the very beginning of this combat during April 2020, the company had donated 01 billion VND to Covid-19 Fighting Fund of Tuoi Tre Newspaper in tandem with Ho Chi Minh City Young Businessman Association. It also partnered with the Hope Foundation of VnExpress newspaper to donate 700 million VND to frontline workforce, in which, more than 50.000 bottles of C2 ready-to-drink tea were directly handed over by URC Vietnam to quarantine camps and border posts in Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Quang Ninh, Lai Chau and other provinces.
URC Vietnam also actively supported healthcare staffs and people in charge of the prevention of Covid-19 with its quality food and beverages such as C2 RTD tea, Rong Do, and Cream-O biscuits through organizations such as the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the People Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - District 2, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and People Committee of Can Gio District, etc.
When some provinces and cities of the Central of Vietnam were impacted by the second outbreak of Covid-19 since late July 2020, URC Vietnam kept collaborating with local partners to give strengths to frontline workforce in the Central region with the company’s nutritious products, including more than 25,000 bottles of C2 RTD Tea, Cream-O Biscuits, Dynamite and Lush Milk Sweets and Chikki Snacks; with total donation value of nearly 500 million VND.
Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Da Nang City represented hospitals and local workforces to receive the donation from URC Vietnam
The first batch of subsidy went to Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Da Nang City, who then distributed all the goods to Children Hospital, Oncology Hospital and People Committee of the Districts across the city to support local forces. Meanwhile, the second support was implemented with Law Newspaper in the Central region, through Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to support frontline workforces, hospitals, border guards and industrial zone workers who were affected by the pandemic in the three provinces Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Quang Tri.
