The General Department of Viet Nam Customs contributed VND272,000 billion to the State budget, 88% of which were collected online.
The amount reflected a rise of 0.8% over the plan set by the National Assembly and up 3.8% against the previous year.
The information was released at a meeting on January 10 to review Viet Nam Customs’ works in 2016 and launch tasks for 2017.
In 2016, the sector recovered debts worth VND498.5 billion.
General Director of the General Department of Viet Nam Customs Nguyen Van Can highlighted achievements in simplifying
customs procedures, which has helped reduce clearance time and increase the effectiveness of supervision works.
The customs procedures recognized 700 businesses as customs agents and priority mechanisms for 57 enterprises.
