Leather and footwear exports soar in four months

(VEN) - Statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Trade showed that footwear exports reached US$730 million this April and US$2.85 billion in the first four months of this year, a 21.9 percent increase from a year ago. The sector also turned over US$821 million worth of bag, briefcase, umbrella and hat exports during this time, a 48.1 percent increase.
Extracting 5.68 million tonnes of crude oil in four months

(VEN) - Major oil and gas products increased in the first four months of this year. Specifically, crude oil extraction amounted to 1.42 million tonnes this April, a 3.2 percent increase from a year ago, and 5.68 million tonnes in the first four months of this year, a 2.12 percent increase; natural fuel gas 0.9 billion cu.m in April, a 0.1 percent increase, 3.56 billion cu.m in four months, a 1.5 percent increase; liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) 62,800 tonnes in April, a 16.4 percent increase, and 251,300 tonnes in four months, a 9.4 percent increase.
US$683-million trade surplus in four months

(VEN) - According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam exported US$683 million more than it imported in the first four months of 2014, accounting for 1.5 percent of the country’s export revenue in the same period.
Fertilizer price remains to be stable in May

(VEN) - The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that domestic fertilizer production was still stable in the first four months of this year. This included 739,000 tonnes of urea fertilizer, an 8.9 percent increase from a year ago, 724,200 tonnes of NPK fertilizer, a 2.8 percent decline, and 544,900 tonnes of phosphate fertilizer, a 6.7 percent increase.
Ca Mau records export surplus of US$343.99 million

(VEN) - The Ca Mau Province Department of Industry and Trade said that Ca Mau exported US$393.7 million and imported US$49.71 million worth of goods in the first four months of this year, recording an export surplus of US$343.99 million.
Raising competitiveness for footwear products

Vietnam-Brazil trade to hit US$3 billion in 2014

(VEN) - The General Department of Vietnam Customs’ statistics showed that Vietnam-Brazil trade came to US$749.2 million in the first quarter of 2014, up 77.7 percent from 2013. Of this, Vietnam exported goods worth US$328.5 million, up 58.6 percent, and imported goods worth US$420.5 million, up 96.2 percent.
